Thanks.

I am not sure what would cause that - it seems ok here.

Which type of Expedition?

Btw, the next update for Exp is a lot faster with ENCs.

I have the ARM version installed and running on my Macbook Air M2 running Parallels with Windows 11 Home and so far so good.
Am I correct assuming that the ARM version will work better for this setup than the standard version?

I had an email from a user this morning who commented that the ARM version is a lot faster and uses less CPU on his Mac under Parallels for both routing and charting.

As an addendum to that, the next release is a lot faster for ENCs and RNCs. There is more to come with ENCs, but it depends on finding a spare month.

Sparky. I looked at Arm64EC, but several of the libraries Exp uses didn't like it which meant there wasn't a lot of point in a build and it made sense to go fully to ARM.

4D only has another 2 years until EOL btw.

I don't know enough about Parallels on Macs to know how it works for ARM64 code. Hopefully the performance is better.

Also, I am thinking of making this the last 32 bit MAX build. 32 bit support is increasingly problematical and people should have moved off MAX charts many years ago.

Expedition 12.3 now has native ARM64 support.

Note that this does not support Navionics or C-Map as both are x86/x64 only.

If you do need Navionics or C-Map 4D, then the normal build is recommended.

We do not recommend C-Map MAX on ARM64 as performance will the terrible.

Have you looked at the Vessel Finder web site?

It uses their LiveData service.

We implemented this for the Atlantic race. It treats the data as for YB Tracking etc rather than AIS.

Maybe you still have the old cartridge installed on the computer.

If so, try removing it on the cartridges tab.

The Sync button just sets the display time to the last position report for the reference boat.
