Technical Q&A » How to connect via Wi-Fi to B&G to receive AIS data? » Today 2:38 pm |
You are probably connected to the Hercules websocket. It does not send AIS data.
Your Navionics app will have a NMEA 0183 connection to something else in the system.
You can have both connections in Exp. Just make sure you turn off the non-AIS data in Exp from the NMEA connection as you want instrument data from the Hercules.

I might be able to add an entry in the dll.
Maybe email me.

Yes, course is always calculated in Exp.

Do you mean in Exp? If so, the virtual serial port only exists when the NGT/NGX is connected.

The NGX is a newer product. Apart from that, they seem to function similarly.
The Digital Yacht device should be ok. I haven't had any issues with them.
Questions about Expedition features » Log sailchanges / events through DLL? » 5/24/2025 12:44 pm |
Yes, it doesn't set events. There is currently no way to do that with the dll.
I just realised it won't help the number boxes as Exp will immediately over-write it.
The IDs in the database are independent of the xml sail chart.
Technical Q&A » Does this log file look right? » 5/24/2025 12:41 pm |
The log data is not in columns.
The header is just to indicate what you are logging.
If you want it in columns, you need to use the Extract log data function.

You could use SetExpVar to set the sail in Exp. The value to pass is the id in the database.

General Discussion » Multiple routes - how to display all routes offset from start? » 5/23/2025 1:21 pm |
There are buttons on the Optimal ribbon to take you to the start of the routing.
It is also easy if you have the weather for the time period loaded as you can just step through it.
Otherwise, you can specify the display time on the Weather ribbon and step forward or backwards in time.
You can also set the display time from the optimal routing summary.
Networking Issues » Serial (RS232) - WIFI - Expedition (Using B&G H2000 Perf.) » 5/23/2025 1:18 pm |
You would need a USB-serial adaptor. RS232 I think for the H2000 and another serial connection for the AIS.
