How to connect via Wi-Fi to B&G to receive AIS data?

I am currently able to connect seamlessly to a B&G system with the following settings:

Alias: N/A
Instruments: B&G Websocket
Connection: WebSocket
Address: 192.168.8.226
Port: 2053

I receive all boat data except for AIS data when connected to the boat's Wi-Fi. However, when I connect my phone to the boat's Wi-Fi and open Navionics, I start receiving the boat's speed and position, as well as AIS targets in Navionics.

What are the recommended settings for receiving AIS data into Expedition via Wi-Fi? Do I need to set up another Network port?

The boat is running a Hercules on the backend. With a Zeus3S down below as the chart plotter and two Vulcan displays on deck in addition to some H5000 graphic displays elsewhere on the deck and H5000 displays on the mast pod.

Thank you

Re: How to connect via Wi-Fi to B&G to receive AIS data?

You are probably connected to the Hercules websocket. It does not send AIS data.

Your Navionics app will have a NMEA 0183 connection to something else in the system (the Zeus?).

So you are correct - you want two connections. There is an argument the connection for AIS etc would be better as an Actisense NGX etc rather than Wifi.

You can have both connections in Exp. Just make sure you turn off the non-AIS data in Exp from the NMEA connection as you want instrument data from the Hercules.
