Questions about Expedition features » Transfer Routes Between Expedition and OpenCPN » 2/04/2020 5:23 am

I can export a route in gpx format from Expedition into OpenCPN, but if I try the same back into Expedition, all I get are waypoints. I work with both of these systems and it would be very useful to be able to easily read routes back and forth. I know that when I import into Expedition, I can manually transfer each waypoint over to a route. Is there a more efficient way to do this?

I installed the latest version. The problem still exists for me. Tried deleting the marks.dat, but that doesn't work. It seems that the weird lines are all plotting beneath the RNC chart area, if that helps.

I deleted the charts.dat. It doesn't solve the problem for RNCs, but it does solve it when I load my (old, outdated) C-MAPs.

Windows 10 laptop. Installed 10.13.2, but now when I am looking at a chart I have a point in the middle of the screen from which radiate many lines that go from that point to the edge of the view. Some of the pie pieces are blue (water) and some yellow (land). The point remain in the same position on my screen, but changes geographic location as I scroll. When I zoom into a small area where I have RNC coverage, the spot and radiating arms go away. Any Idea what I broke this time?

It is found where I indicate how many liters/hr of fuel I burn, and then when routing, I get a summary of how many liters of fuel I used if I use the motor.

Is there a way to change the default units from liters to gallons?

Is there a way to completely uninstall Expedition in order to do a completely fresh install? I have tried uninstalling through the control panel and have also tried to repair the problem. I am using v. 10.10.13 on a Windows 10 machine. Lately I have so many issues with my ENC, RNC and C-Map charts that I am becoming very frustrated. E.g., three different scaled RNCs showing at one time. Also problems displaying sail charts. I did not have these problems until a few months ago. I think maybe starting from scratch may be a good start.

If it is in there, I have not found it yet, but I would like to see some place to track observed wave height. It would help train everyone to correctly estimate what heights they are actually seeing instead of all the wild guesses we all have. Of course this info is unlikely to change our routing, just good-to-know info. My B&G P9 compass or other fancy multi-axis compasses ought to be able to provide enough information for this to be computed.

Switched to grid-based and all is well.
