General Discussion » RealVNC - Direct Connection removed from Business subscription » 4/08/2025 12:15 am |
I have used AnyDesk for a couple of years now and is a great alternative to TV, however not really tested on LAN without AnyDesk server connection.
I use Radmin a lot (licenses very cheap), however no native iOS or Android apps.

I saw in one of the newer relases that there is added support for Vessel Finder.
In the app there is a API field. How does this work? Where do I get the API?
I've used it a few times. Performance depends on Sat AIS coverage. Email them directly.

I just wish there was as easy and inexpensive way to get ENC charts as 4D and Navionics make it for the waters the cover RORC races.
When I've tried to put together coverage that matches the UK/|Europe coast in ENCs it was MUCH more expensive.
Does anyone know a trick? (I'd love to move my boat systems to ARM64)
I use ENC's from chart world almost exclusively. I get greater assurance of the information as they are proper ENC charts, not just another companies re-rendering of the data. Yes, a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for, and I typically rent for just 3 mth for the areas I need.
Technical Q&A » What's the point of range circles for marks? Routing thru rocks » 3/16/2025 2:59 am |
Expedition does not have a depth function in routing, for good reason as well. And range circles are not used either, they are just a graphical tool for, well, viewing range. Use race notes if there are areas you want to avoid, but be aware that some routing resolutions could well step over this.
If you are getting errors with a race not in place, you may well be asking Expedition to do something near impossible.
Expedition leave mark to pt/st does work very well, but only for grid routing.
The routing solution is very powerful, and works very well, but occasionally there are scenarios that throw up some errors and typically it is due to setup of the route, the resolution of the gribs and routing, marks, racenotes etc.

OK - understood.
Can you explain how they are then loaded?
I assume you have to edit the WIndows Registry files - above my pay grade
Simply open the .reg file and it will write to the registry.

I'm quite familiar with the save settings function. My question is whether there is an auto-save function. If it doesn't exist today, then it would be a feature request, as it makes no sense to have to lose information in a crash or reboot.
I add the Save Settings button to the QAT, and mostly use the User Ribbon, so the Save icon is there and much easier to access.
In saying that, recent 8 day race without a single crash/freeze/loss of response, and I push Exp pretty hard with 8 active Instrument integrations (serial and network) and two external DLL interfaces etc.

Dear Expeditioners, i'm preparing for an upcoming regatta, and I want to track a few competitors via AIS. I've their MMSI numbers, but cannot see how I can set this up in Expedition prior to the regatta. People speak of AIS 1-7 tracking but I cannot find this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best wishes SailingPetie
You can either right mouse click on a target and map to a 'boat', or you can enter the MMSI numbers in the AIS settings for boat 1, 2, 3 etc, and add a name in Settings > User.

Some have had a few issues connecting the Macro to the DLL, there is a suggested fix here:

Hi all,
I have updated and added some content to my Resources page at
First of all is an embedded macro spreadsheet that processes the Analysis output from an Optimisation. This is a macro that I have used for a long time that I thought I would share.
More content coming, and suggestions & feedback welcome.
