Networking Issues » Sending Expedition data fields to standalone B&G Zeus3 chartplotter » Today 3:15 am

axyl and sparky,
thanks for your feedback. As sparky said yes you can connect to the Zeus3 directly using a websocket. However, this interface doesn't have the same capabilities as the H5k websocket interface. That's typical B&G.
Next I'll try to connect using a Yacht Devices NMEA 2000 Ethernet Gateway YDEN-02. I'll update you when I have the device installed and tested.
PS: Yes I was looking for the Expedition data on the B&G in the Other category. At least that where Expedition data shows up on a H5k setup.

Proceed with caution. I'd prefer an Actisense NGT-1

Yep, I always get that, I just maximise another application and go back to Exp and done.

Folks.  I am about to put a SIM into our new Exec w/ dual mode antenna, then put Expedition and XGate through a few tests.  A couple questions re: the previous posts.

- Overage.  I was told by BlueCosmos/Roadpost that you don't get shutoff when you hit your limits, just charged extra usage fees.

- Why is something like Glasswire needed?  The Exec contain a firewall.

BTW not impressed with the build quality of the antenna nor the Exec cradle mount.

Thanks

Glasswire allows you to view all traffic and block specific apps etc from accessing the internet and chewing through data.

Questions about Expedition features » Waves Correction Table » 3/21/2024 10:42 am

Trying to better understand the influence of 'Waves' in the optimize tab vs. using 'correct polar for waves if available'. Using waves from WW3 model GRIB that was obtained through  Expedition/GFS .25 download.   Definitely downloading sig wav height and prim wav direction
Ran routing using both.
Waves in the Optimal tab generated two identical routes. Do not have ability to set any parameters in this tab.
'correct polar for waves if available' generated two identical when selected and not selected
Do not have a wave correction table.

what are both of these selected inputs supposed to be working off of?

limiting routing to avoid waves greater than certain heights works with this GRIB file

Wave correction table assumes 100% at all TWS, angles and heights as default. If you adjust the table you should see differences for those specific conditions.

Wave table accessed on the optimum ribbon, in the far left section.

Try Glasswire to restrict access to the network.

You can change the number box sizes within the number boxes themselves.

Technical Q&A » B&G Hercules - Polar interface » 3/09/2024 10:54 pm

It should work (I had it operating as it should 10 days ago). I'd contact B&G to solve.

Technical Q&A » Tablet running expedition data to take place of displays » 3/09/2024 10:52 pm

Option 3 is the best solution, either as a stand alone site of Expedition, or using remote access apps like RDP, Radmin, Spacedesk etc.

You can also do same with a tablet (iOS or Android). Spacedesk mightbe a good option as you can set up to work as an extended display and just show a number box with your data.

You would not need to purchase a 2nd license if you chose to use a tablet PC like Getac, Panasonic or other.

You can draw the mean (line and value) for the time span of the chart. View menu > Means
