Networking Issues » Filter GPS outliers? » 6/24/2024 1:47 pm |
Thanks for the ideas, the problem is that everything is on the 2000 bus. I will need to filter out the yacht device gateway. the next challenge is figuring out how to identify the one I want to use.
Networking Issues » Filter GPS outliers? » 6/18/2024 5:56 am |
Nick,
I just installed a new chart plotter (B&G) and I am seeing a problem with the different GPS data coming thru the feed. It turns out I have 3 different GPS, one on the chart plotter, one on the AIS unit and one on my older Raymarine network. In the chart plotter I can choose which one I use, but I don't see a way to filter out the different ones on expedition. the other issue i see is that the positions of the different GPS also causes the location to jump back and forth. One GPS is located on the transom and the others midship, about 20 feet away.
Any suggestion on how to filter the different GPS?
Thanks
Technical Q&A » Format of the Boatids file? » 3/10/2023 2:01 pm |
In working with the Boatid file, I have not found a easy way to download the handicaps, but I did figure out that if I edit the boatid file in a spreadsheet and add the class and handicap i could reload the file and have those values populated. I have not figured out the format of the start times and polar file name. For example Cabo and Transpac have multiple start times and days.
Next question, what's the format of the file for loading all of the fields? Can it be done?
For example,
boatID, boat name, Class, handicap, start time, Pol %, polar file.
Thanks
Steve
Technical Q&A » Buying C-Map charts » 4/14/2022 2:08 pm |
FYI - I had the same problem. The solution was to call C-map support. It took 3 days for support to figure it out. Bottom line, they sent me a invoice, which I paid and I had to send them the Chart license request key and then they sent me the key.
It took awhile, but it now works.
Technical Q&A » Zoom limit » 4/11/2022 6:53 am |
quick question, what charts would be best for close-up work? we have a virtual finish for a race but if you can't zoom in enough you may miss the finish. this could be an issue with the chart I'm using because this is a finish in Mexico and i have not been able to find a good chart yet.
Thanks
Technical Q&A » Zoom limit » 4/08/2022 5:56 am |
FYI - I'm seeing the same thing. I'm on a new computer and I am using ENC charts, but I can't zoom in more than 16:1 which means I can see any separation between finish marks.
Any ideas? I'm on 11.15.4
Thanks
Steve
Questions about Expedition features » Optimal Routing solutions results get cleared out each time » 4/19/2021 12:00 pm |
Good question, i did not see that setting before, but it is set to 8. But I then did something a little different, I chose "Ensemble" and now multiple routes are showing up and staying and when I now choose Optimize, the new routes are showing up. Before it only showed the last 2 routes. It now seems to be working correctly,
Thanks
Steve

All,
Not sure what I'm missing, and I had this working before, but each time I download a new grib file and create a new optimize route the old routes get deleted and I can't find them or display them.
I do have "load previous optimal routes at startup" checked.
The only routes that show up on the results page is the latest run, all others are gone.
Any ideas?
Thanks

General Discussion » When using YB tracking for Transpac - Expedition crashes ? » 7/21/2019 8:42 pm |
Not 100% sure which item fixed it, but I did the Expedition System restore app and then I got sharing violation on the JSON tracking file. I removed all of the JSON file and restarted Expedition and now everything is working again. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

FYI - I did try another upgrade to 10.11.7 and it still crashed when it finishes downloading the YB updates. Next, I'll try the restore option and keep you posted.
