Today i was onboard testing the system again, uninstalled Expedition totally (Did not remove the data folder) and no luck, in the B&G websocket menu I only have "websocket" and "custom" available, i do receive data and send external channel to the Hercules. The Start function ping and time from Expedition to B&G all work. So communication Tx/Rx looks ok.  But i found and another issues, once i start Expedition my MHU calibration value on the Hercules is reset to 0 degrees, this was a problem which i managed to re-produce 3 times so expedition must send some calibration data. if restart the B&G system without expedition running the MHU cal val remains in the system.

beside this another thing i notice today, I have a Actisense NGX-1-USB, the successor of the NGT-1, to connect the GPS and AIS data to expedition and the unit works, send custom Garmin data, receives the data from the network but does not show in Actisense menu - "Actisense" no activity , CAN TX/ CAN RX / Serial TX/RX are 0% , all other seems to be working fine.

Any idea for the three issues ?

Hi Nick,
to the best of my knowledge their is no level anymore, you just buy the processor(called hercules), i did not find anywhere an menu to unlock different level like Hydra/hercules or hercules performance which is still with the H5000 Processor.

Hi All, no luck so far, no response from B&G, tried to re-install the software without success, remove the router in between the processor and the PC using fixed Ip address (Firewall issues), nothing.  Could a pin code on the process block functions ?

Port used 2053

Hi I'm setting up a new system with a new B&G Hercules. but i'm missing a lots of functions in the instrunents section which i used to have with the H5000 Hercules such as polar transfers, wind calibration, extrenal channels etc.... the systeem receive all the data from the processor, i see the raw data coming in, so their is a connection, I can log to the Hercules form the PC without any issues.

Connection ; B&G websocket
Version Expedition : latest
Ip address of PC and Hercules processor are fixed
All is connected using a Teltonika router

Any ideas why this is not working ?

For a project i would know if it would be possible to use to 4 button input using the YDSC-04 to control function in Expeditions. ( See MOB Article https://www.yachtd.com/news/fog_horn.html), this using the NMEA2000 Switch commands received from the Yacht TD. (PGN 127501 and 127502 if i'm not mistaken)

Function 1 : Ping starting Vessel
Function 2 : Ping Pin end
Function 3 : Start timer
Function 4 : Sync timer.

The idea would be to have RF wireless key remote with 4 simple buttons connected to the 4 relays and connected to the YachtTD unit, this instead of a Ipad or Phone. Buttons are easier and faster.

Could this work ?

I'm using a minplex 3E to send data via UDP to the system but after a while the UDP data stops, when I press reconnect instruments it reconnects straight away all works fine. It looks like expedition times out the UDP connection after a while, because when I use Putty to monitor UDP after 4 hrs it was still runnning where in Expedition it stop after apx 20 minutes. I run the AIS input on this channel aswell. Input is set to NMEA AIS

Any idea. Expedition version installed is : 10.12

Technical Q&A » H3000 XDR Heel and Trim not working » 7/16/2019 2:41 pm

On the selected NMEA sentence to recieve XDR is on and in the middle section Roll/Heel, Rudder and Trim/Pitch are selected. Data selected in the number boxes is "Heel (Roll)"
When i had the system connected to a H3000 Hercules Performance using Hlink heel was showing, this is a different boat with a H3000 Hercules so i can't use Hlink but have to use NMEA and I see the sentence coming in just not displaying.

I have enable heel and trim in the H3000_config.txt, not in the H2000_config.txt, could this be related? The input is NMEA not Hlink?

I have a H3000 hydra processor  using a serial interface  directly connect to the processor, all works fine expect for the Heel and trim which I can't get to work. It looks like the sentence send out the wrong checksum.  The sentence is $IIXDR,A,-0.2,D,HEEL,A,-0.1,D,TRIM,A,13.0,D,RUDDER*4E recorded straight out oof the processor.  if run it past a checksum check the checksum should be *66 . I can't change this in the H3000,  is their any way of ignoring the checksum or customizing the checksum field for sentence that our out of bound?

I would realy like to record Heel and trim for performance purpose and be able to send out target heel bank to the CPU.

thx
