Displaying AIS information in Expedition / Cmap

Expedition is receiving AIS data (I know because I can see them on my nke displays) but I cannot find out how to have them displayed / overlaid on the Expedition (Cmap) chart. I notice various options for decluttering etc.etc. I see no boats as of now. Any ideas ?

Re: Displaying AIS information in Expedition / Cmap

Do you see AIS data coming in to Expedition in to the respective Comm or Network port (Raw data button)?

Check you have the correct values selected for Expedition to use.

Re: Displaying AIS information in Expedition / Cmap

Hi again,

I kind of figured already that I need to select the right values like you suggest, but the question is what these are.

Re: Displaying AIS information in Expedition / Cmap

There is no mention of the connection for the AIS data or what it looks like, so assuming you are connected to NKE:

Do you have the VDM message select to be received in Exp?

It probably defaults to off for NKE connections.

Re: Displaying AIS information in Expedition / Cmap

One prerequisite is of course that "targets" are selected in "Display" setting.

Re: Displaying AIS information in Expedition / Cmap

Is VDO selected?

It may be your AIS. I had similar issue this weekend, where AIS targets stopped being drawn, but still seeing all the raw data and GPS etc was OK. It was a poor connection of the VHF antenna at the splitter.

If data is good and fed to Expedition it will show the targets.
