I'm sure this is available somewhere, but can't find it. Does anyone have a schedule showing when the weather models are released after being updated? For example, I know the HRRR is hourly, but when is the newest one released (e.g. xx minutes after the hour)?
Thanks

Hugh,
You can, in the US, find a dizzying amount of info of the different models eg
They will tell you they update the HRRR every hour...
BUT, what is really important to you, is what time you can get it from your source. You will likely find it takes a substantial amount of time for the latest release to filter down to the site where you can get the grib file for EXP
So you really have to take an empirical approach to this and see when the best time to do downloads are while on the boat. Take some notes and see what the start times of the forecast compared to when you asked for it.
Cheers,
Ernie M

There is an approximate table here, although I don't regularly update it.
The check VT can also be useful as most of the data updates over time. For example, the GFS is made available once 72 hours data are available, then populates as it is made available out to 384 hours.
The UM model all arrive about the same time.

Thank you all for the replies - very helpful!

To see the current status of the NCEP models:
Shows each model run's average start & finish times, as well as when it actually completes.
But as Ernie notes, this doesn't match the time your GRIB's source actually has them available to download.
