Re: B&G H5000 + Garmin Quatix 6 watch + Garmin GNT10

By easy, I guess you mean cheap. :-) You would need to spend money on the Garmin GNX wind display and the Actisense NGT1 but once you have those it is relatively easy. Cheers, Will.

Re: B&G H5000 + Garmin Quatix 6 watch + Garmin GNT10

That too.... But do you mean that you use the GNX display as a "portible" device (installing it on the different boats you are on?) Or is it just a matter of plugging it into the NMEA 2000 backbone? That would indeed be an "easy" solution...

Re: B&G H5000 + Garmin Quatix 6 watch + Garmin GNT10

Yes the GNX can just plug into the backbone but the display has to be on deck for the ANT to work effectively... and then you need the Actisense sending the custom channels from expedition onto the NMEA 2000 backbone... so if you are moving between boats... not so easy...

Re: B&G H5000 + Garmin Quatix 6 watch + Garmin GNT10

Has anyone been able to locate the ANT profile implemented by the Quantix?
I was looking around as ANT seems pretty simple it shouldn't be hard to write a bit of code to take data from either Exp or NME2000 and send it out to a paired ANT device --- you just need the ANT profile the endpoint implements.

I looked at this a few years ago at Garmin's request, but got distracted and they provided a solution as above.

Maybe it is time to look at it again ...

Re: B&G H5000 + Garmin Quatix 6 watch + Garmin GNT10

that would be cool!
I thin there is a USB stick that can be used as ANT transmitter.

You can get any number of USB sticks that function as a USB std ANT device.
