AIS and Race Tracking

Hello,

I've set up Expedition to map some AIS targets. Is it possible to import these AIS targets into race tracking in the same that one could, for example, import boats from YellowBrick? My reason for asking is that I'd like to see DtF, gains and losses etc as well as handicap data.

Re: AIS and Race Tracking

Thank you for getting back to me. I have a further question about AIS. I have recently connected my laptop up to our network so that it can receive AIS data via an Actisense NGT-1 cable.I can now receive AIS data perfectly but it is causing the heading being shown in Expedition to constantly jump about 90 degrees. We have a B&G H5000 Hydra  and Zeus; Expedition is connected via a wireless network. I am guessing that there is some sort of conflict between data going into Expedition from the NAIS unit and H5000 but I can't work out what that might be and how to resolve it. Any help would be gratefully received!

Here is a screenshot of what the heading looks like in strip chart form. As you can see it constantly 'jumps':

Re: AIS and Race Tracking

You could/should disable MEA 2000 PGNs being received by Expedition that you don't want, probably everything except AIS and maybe GPS

Re: AIS and Race Tracking

As a follow up to the Actisense post I have a new problem. I now only have the AIS receive PGN's ticked and everything works fine for an hour or so and then I lose AIS completely - not just in Expedition but also in our Zeus's (both send and transmit). I also get a red light flashing on our NAIS500 unit showing a malfunction. I had someone from B&G on the boat yesterday and they agreed with me that the most likely cause is that data is somehow being sent to the NAIS500. Here is a screenshot which has mystified me as I can't see how Expedition is sending data if I don't have any selected to send:

https://prnt.sc/ZfbOL9wbwIUV

I should add that I have all the PGN sends unticked.
B&G are going to look at this and I'm contacting Actisense too but wondered if anyone had had a similar experience?
