Hi. Can you please tell me the settings in expedition to connect the vesper ais through wifi. The vesper is communicating with the computer ok. I have tried going to instrument; serial and network ports: selected Network 0, selected vesper in instruments, selected UDP to IP address, inserted the IP address, inserted the port number .... cannot get any raw data.
I have tried other combinations but without success.

Maybe try UDP TX & Rx

Anthony - were you able ever to get this working. We have the same set up with the same problem. No problem with the wifi connection but we can't get the data into Expedition. I've done this on my iPad and can get the data into iNavX without any problems. There's got to be some setting in Expedition that we're missing....

Thanks Nick - we'll give that a try.

We are having the same non-connect problem in trying to get data into Expedition through Vesper wi-fi. Instrument settings have been: NMEA 0183 AIS, address: 192.168.15.1, port: 39150. Have tried both UDP and TCP client. Are there any other hidden settings that we don't know about? At times the screen populates with AIS targets, but but then nothing and no data stream.

It will say whether Exp is connected or not near the top left of the instrument connection page.
You can also look at the raw data window from there to see if data is being received.

So I am fascinated, did you get the Vesper XB 8000 hooked up to Expedition? I am in the process. It is May 17 2022. I am hooking up by doing by USB and then I try NMEA 2000. It sounds tuff. The aerial, did you use their antenna. I have a Shakespeare vhf and AIS antenna I am about to use.

I have a Vesper here I use to test AIS on. It works with both NMEA 0183 AIS and also connected to the NMEA 2000 network. It isn't an XB 8000, but should be much the same.
For the USB connection, you probably want to select NMEA 0183 AIS in Exp. Make sure you have the VDM mesage selected to receive
