gps antenna specs

Looking for a gps antenna ( preferably nmea2000). Which are the main specs for expedition racing use? Starts, good tide calculations,.... How important are accuracies?, DGPS?,......

Re: gps antenna specs

I saw there is a new Garmin that looks very nice. GPS 24xd.

It use GPS, Galileo and Glonass, has SBAS, 10Hz etc

Re: gps antenna specs

This is the one that I use:

Works great for us, high accuracy, GPS, 10Hz, additional satellite support.  Also functions as a compass and provides heel and trim.

Re: gps antenna specs

thanks for the info..... but these antennas are enough good? In the past racing boats use hemisphere, triton,...... very expensive GPS antennas with high accuracy. Nowadays worth it?

Re: gps antenna specs

The new GARMIN 24d is a multi-band GPS! It can receive L1 and L5 like the ublox F9 receiver and  is therefore way more precise than its predecessors. Very cool!
