Hi,
What does a dashed line mean in a optiomal route?
I'm using Grid Based Routing - doing a test race with SailOnline and I now have the next few legs where the TWA is dropping down to as low as 17 deg - which is impossible to sail. Its being displayed as a dashed line.
Is it trying to suggest that I start motoring?
Thanks
Phil

I don't follow. There is a section (30-40nm) in my optional route which is basically pointing direclty into the wind.

The dashed line indicates tacking or gybing. I the routing output, it will be shown as eg (-12).
There is also an explanation in the help.

It indicates a section of the optimal route where tacking or jibing will be required following the tactics normally employed such as tacking on the headers and not getting out in the corner etc.
Check out the pdf on the Exp web page (Welcome to Exp) or do a search of this forum
