Enc chart hardware ID?
Hi
I’m trying to buy some ENC charts from chartworld. They say they use standard enc s63 format which, I believe, will be readable by Exp.
however the store asks me for ‘hardware id’ and ‘s63 user permit’. Is that something i should own? Or where can I find these?

Your vendor has to send you those things separately from, and triggered by, your ENC purchase. At least that's true for AusHydro, SHOM, Hydro.

We allocate the ENC User Pemits.
You need to email me with your Expedition site code. We only generate the User Permits on request as most people don't need them.
You just need the User permit - you never see the hardware ID(s).

I should add that you must read the Expedition help on ENC management before using ENCs.

Got it thanks. I am still in debate over this as we are talking about an area we rarely use and there are excellent raster images available. I’ll read the manual again...I’m sure I missed something

Also noticed that David Burch has provided some videos on S63 charts in general and dealing with NZ and Chartworld charts specifically. He's written these as part of the 2nd revsion of his electronic charts book - they can be found here
