cmWin32.dll

Dear Forum

I have this error message after downloading expeditionsetup4D_10_14_2exe.
I believe the cmWin32.dll file is missing as I uploaded 4D version and then deleted that icon with 4D extension and left my original exp program icon on my desktop
Now I need a reliable source to upload this cmWin32.dll file to get going again
Any ideas?
Carl

Re: cmWin32.dll

Carl,
Try to do the update again or I think you can choose 'repair'.  My home pc does that occasionally, non 4D,  I try to keep a copy of cmWin32.dll on a thumbdrive for such occasions.
Maybe Nick will ring in with a more technically astute answer.

Re: cmWin32.dll

It is the C-Map library. People see this error from time to time, but I haven't and don't know what causes it not to be installed.

As Ernie says, the solution is to repair the Exp install.

There may be something interesting in the installation log files. These should be:

   \Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\Expedition_*.log
   \Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\Expedition_*.msi.log

I will make these more verbose for the next Exp update.

Re: cmWin32.dll

Oh, I have updated the Expedition und restart the Windows pad.
Now I will start Expedition and the Massage is:

"The Start can not beginn, because then cmwin32.dll not found."
Any ideas?

The solution is to reinstall/repair Expedition, see the previous post.

Re: cmWin32.dll

Expedition cannot be repaired and cannot uninstalled. I have no Idea.

Re: cmWin32.dll

Any details?  Maybe email me.

There is a very useful Microsoft Fix-it uninstaller linked on the Expedition resources page:

Re: cmWin32.dll

Thank you very much. I was able to uninstall Expedition and reinstalled it. Now I have version v11.5.8. It is wonderful. All my cards, grib files and settings are still there.
