onboard
aispro2 show ais is working fine
in device manager ais  is seen as Com11

but nothing in expedition (either aispro connected or disconnected

any suggestions?

Things to look at.

Does the port say it is open or closed in Exp?
Can you see raw data in the raw data window?
Are the port settings in Exp correct?
Do you have the AIS sentences enbled in the Exp connection
etc

cannot find port to open 
either under settings  or instruments

am i looking in wrong place ?

If you click on the instrument button, you will get an interface showing all the serial ports available.

yes see the com ports inc com 11 (ais in device manager)
set com11 to nema ais (ais is a em trak transciver)
but no raw data recieved

Does it say the port is open or closed in Exp? Do you have NMEA AIS selected as the instrument type? Do you have the correct baud rate etc selected?

Does the connection page in Expedition say if it is OPEN or CLOSED ? This is an important question.

thars weird ..... left inst etc all runing, come back a couple of hours later and exped is now displaying AIS

should i have exped running before powering up ais??
