Hi
i am using an em-tac AIS; B&G 5000, Dell Rugged laptop,
connected bu their own connection - AIS by USB and B&G by ethernet
the AIS was displaying nicely on Expedition, but i had to do an update to ProAIS2 as Windoze 10 managed to corrupt the com drivers
now i cannot get AIS data on Expedition
- AIS is work fine via ProaAIS2 receiving and displaying, but Expedition is no longer dipslaying AIS data
any suggestion what i' doing wrong
thx
Ross

A COM port is only visible in Expedition if it is connected and not used by any other program.
So make sure your USB cable from the AIS is connected and that the COM port is not in use by any other program (like ProAIS2).

Expedition should still show the com port, you just won't be able to open it.
Not seeing the port, means it isn't there. Unfortunately you need to fix that part.

ok - will try to fix that : not on boat for a couple of weeks

At my boat AIS is coming in at COM3. I use a laptop and when I'm home the COM3 simply doesn't show up in Expedition. Only when the USB is plugged in at the boat this port is visible in Exp.

Yes - if the USB isn't connected, the port doesn't exist in windows, so Exp won't show it.
If you are connected and the port exists, but Exp can't open the port, it will still show it.
