Hi
Two of the boats using B&G H5000 in the CLubswan 50 class just updated to the latest H5000 update from september 2018.
with this update, we have received a new problem:
- data is sent undamped to expedition and all our parameters are working like crazy, so it is possible to read anything sensible out of it.
we are two boats having the same situation, and the same updates.
please can you help us.
racing coming up on Wednesday 10th of april! would be great if fixed before then.
could of course be a H5000 issue too... or most probably a H5000 issue, but maybe you Nick could help us to figure this one out?
best regards
silje and alicia

Yes, there is an issue with H5. You can use the Exp damping in the meantime.

It is like AS if the expedition damping isn’t working either...
I have normal expedition damping on my data in the channels settings, but it dosen’t seem to apply... kind of “disconnected”?
SOG for example: stated damped 10 seconds, but still varying very quickly
Same for some of the wind data
Same problem in deckman by the way

Did you correctly specify the damping in Exp?
- Settings/Channels
- Then in Number boxes specify 'system' or any other value as damping.
I do not have experience with H5000, but not having any damping in the channels sent from H5000 to Exp to em sounds like ideal. This allows you to apply the exact amount of damping in Exp that you want on your PC independent of the amount of damping you apply to your instruments in the cockpit. E.g. you can apply more damping to your instruments than what is used by Exp.

I just found an issue where some vars in Exp such as Tws may not be damped in the current release. Will post a fix this afternoon.

Excellent.
You are the best, Nick
Now, B&G are sending us a new update file, too, for the cpu;
To fix the issues..
Is there a risk that the two fixes will work against each other?

They should be independent.
