HI,
I´m having an issue to get data from a Seapilot CTRX AIS Graphene+, connected to NMEA2000 backbone and a the PC connected through an Garmin GND10. The AIS port shows in connections, but no data seems to be transmitting.
Very happy for any input or ideas.

The GND10 doesn't send AIS data over the USB link.
The best solution in this case may be to use the Actisense NGT-1 to connect the computer to the NMEA 2000 network.

Hi Nick,
That would certainly explain it..
As I dont have a actisense, i'll try the ais mini-usb direct to the pc, or perhaps expedition needs 0183?
Thanks for taking time to reply.

If it works (and the Swedish manual suggests it might), the USB connection would appear as a serial port to Exp.
You just select AIS as the instrument type for the port. The baud rate will be 38400.
The Garmin devices do this too.

Has there been any change in this "deficiency" of the GND10 to get AIS data to the network? The Garmin devices will display the AIS info, so it's there, obviously.
Thx for any help available before I go buy the Actisense.

I can't speak for Garmin, but I would be very surprised if the GND10 ever supported AIS.
The GND10 is really just to support legacy Nexus hardware. The native NMEA 2000 NGT-1 is a better all-round solution.

Condition confirmed, the GND10 does not handle the AIS PGNs.
