Hi, I was thinking about buying some 2:nd hand T215 und use for displaying custom (PTAK) messages generated by Expedition. Now, reading the latest Raymarine manual it is stated that T215 does not support PTAK. (page 7). On the other hand, the Expedition manual assumes that T215 can accept PTAK, and some Tacktick flyers as well as product descriptions in some online shops hints that too. Can it be that early T215 did support PTAK but that the support has been dropped in later sw releases? Anyone with experience of T215 and PTAK messages? RegardsJohn

I think the Raymarine document suggests the Maxi display supports PTAK, but not the dual maxi.

I have done some testing with PTAK and different Tacktick displays.
1. ALL units I have tested support the PTAK TWC command.
I have tested:
T215 (maxi double),
T110 (standard single, I have the old Mn100-1 version),
T111 (standard double)
T113 (remote display)
I could not test on:
T210 (Maxi)
T110(small single, the newer Mn 100-2 version).
but I think it safe to state that they support PTAK TWC too.
So it seems that all Tacktick displays support the PTAK, TWC message, possibly with the exception of newer T113 sw releases, see below.
2. Next I tested PTAK, FFPs
I tested
T110-1 (small single, I have the old Mn100-1 version), and it supports up to 4 FFPs as long as FFP5/6 are not used in the network.See below.
T113 (remote display) supports up to 6 FFPs
Not tested but based on their manauls I think it is safe to state that:
T210 (Maxi)
T110-2(standard single, the newer Mn 100-2 version).
both supports up to 6 FFPs.
Also tested:
T215 (double maxi) do not support PTAK FFD
T110 (standard double) do not support PTAK FFD
Note 1.
I have read somewhere that in newer T113 sw releases, due to processor limitations, has the PTAK function been sacrificed in favour of more graphic functions.
Note 2
If I use the FFP5/6 that my T113 supports, my T110-1 stops recognising PTAK FFPs completely.
The T110-1 appearently sets the limit to 4 TPAK FFPs in a given network.
Maybe this can help someone and maybe you can make some updates in the Expedition manual to this theme.
