Expedition Navigation Software

I have a customary H5000 setup on my boat with my nav PC connected to the Actisense NGT as well as hard wired ethernet to the GoFree router. All is working well with one exception: my wind angle data are correctly displayed on my B&G displays but are jumping back and forth between correct and incorrect data in Expedition. Since other data depends on wind angle, such as sail selection, those data are flickering as well, which is of course quite annoying. Analyzing the data on the N2K bus, it appears that I have three sources of wind data. One source with the correct angle, two other sources with incorrect angles. The B&G displays ignore the erroneous data but Expedition takes in both correct and incorrect wind angle data. I guess my question is, can I limit Expedition to selecting only one source of wind angle data from the N2K bus (so that erroneous data gets ignored)? Or can I turn off the unwanted source of B&G data altogether (so that the erroneous data don't show up in the PGN messages).

Disable all wind PGNs/sources in your Actisense connection and just use the websocket one.

Thanks, Campbell. I think that's the right answer. Running Expedition without the Actisense NGT-1 connected, I get smooth and correct wind data. Which begs the question, why does Expedition honor PGNs received through Actisense if the main purpose of the Actisense is to provide AIS data? I think the use of Actisense is rather common, am I the only one who has these types of problems requiring me to "program" Actisense to filter out unwanted PGNs. As a matter of fact, all PGNs other than those from the AIS should be blocked no?

The Actisense is not only used to receive AIS data.
What if your Actisense is the only instrument connection or you also want GPS data?
That is why you have to select the data you want from each source.

Thanks, Nick. I may be a little slow here - where do I select the data from each source? I can't seem to find an option in Expedition to select data from given source...

Click the Settings button near the bottom right of the connection window for the Actisense gateway.
You will get another window with NMEA 2000 and Actisense options.
The N2K_PGNs page should be shown by default. You can select which PGNs to receive and send. There are preset buttons for AIS, GPS etc.

That worked. Thanks!
