    TWA Calibration "Example" Data Table from H5000 Manual

    Is the Example table in the manual meant to be a reasonable starting point for TWA calibration?

    If you got on a boat with all zeros in the table, would you put those values in, figuring it would probably be better than the zeros?

    If not, what would you use?

    You are better to do the calibration in the instruments.

    Either way, it is completely boat specific though.

    sorry, i wasn't clear - i meant the b&g h5000 manual. They have examples near the end of the manual.

    I understand that we have to calibrate by collecting data - but if the TWA table is all zeros, that's going to take time, and i need to wait for the specific wind conditions - i can't get calibration factors for the 20kt column, until i get to sail in 20kts.

    my question is; is it better to just leave everything at zero, until i can do some tacks in 20kts, or should I start with the values from that table in the B&G manual?

    Definitely. Wind calibration is an iterative process and it is probably best to start from zero than something that will be wrong.

    It depends on your awa sensor, the wand, mast bend, windflow etc ...
