Re: Expedition 12.7.2

I would start with Display states, then instruments. Although the problem might be after that.

Note that you can back everything up from the menu at the top left.

Also try running Exp as Administrator.

Re: Expedition 12.7.2

Is this Windows 10 or 11?

Nor removing "states" or "instruments" folder works for me. Still freezes.

Removing the entire Expedition folder "helps" (it prevents freezing) but that means I see no charts, have polar errors etc...

Sorry for the spam, but I also tried re running setup as admin and launching as admin - it doesn't help.

That is probably good news. Try copying the licence*.xml file back to the new data folder Exp makes.

It could be worth manually running vc_redist, links near the bottom of

When I copy the license back in freezes again. Tried vc_redist but failed "another version of this product is already installed" I should go with 64 if I have a 64 bit windows right?

Re: Expedition 12.7.2

Yes, x64.

That isn't a good sign. The easiest option might be to uninstall the existing vc_redist.

It should be called "Microsoft Visual C++ v12 Redistributable (x64)".

The latest is v14.50.35719.

Re: Expedition 12.7.2

Update.

I see the Microsoft permalink on the Exp resources web page have changed. Have updated them.

It would be worth downloading the latest and installing. If the versions are different, you may need to uninstall the old one.
