Hello I found a pretty bad bug on the new X-Chart Manager, and C-Map has confirmed it. It can mess your licenses, and you will not be able to add areas and de-register your PC, and you will not be able to discover your Digital license.

the bug was fixed in the back end. I will test in this coming weekend

I just had the same issue with XCM 2.5.12 where it wouldn't let me make new user areas or update existing areas.
The solution was to go to X-Chart Manager and deregister the PC.
Then, you have to tell Expedition to forget the previous registration (Expedition remembers the previous registration so you don't need to log in over the internet every time).
Unfortunately the new Expedition System Restore function to clear C-Map settings is broken (it is fixed for the next update), so either clear all Exp settings or better, just delete the registry setting

Hello Nick,One problem I ran into was that when we upgraded to 2.5.12, my account was pointing to an empty record in their licensing service. The other issue was exactly what you’re describing.Another problem is that the update doesn’t check for previous installation settings. Since the uninstall process doesn’t clean up properly, leftover registry keys and directories remain. As a result, the 2.5.12 install can leave you with parallel installations. If you originally installed X-Chart Manager and later moved the chart repository to a different folder, you’re basically stuck. In my opinion, the cleanest path forward is to de-register the laptop, uninstall the old X-Chart Manager, manually delete any remaining folders, and then install the new X-Chart Manager. I showed the Italians all this but sadly they dismissed it.Honestly, the team that coded X-Chart Manager should revisit some software architecture fundamentals. Maybe the Italians designed the upgrade during a family dinner.![]()

Exp 12.6.4 has 2 solutions for this.
1. Select the 'Require login at next startup' option in C-Map settings,
2. Use System Restore app and select the C-Map option.
