Navionics or CMAP-4D on Exp 12

hi All, this is my first question posted ! I under resinstallation of everything because I have Exp 11 and old CMAP. I have buyed the upgrade for Exp 12 but now I have doubt regarding CMAP 4d or Navionics. Do you have suggestions and experiences to suggest the best ? Have sense to buy Navionics+ Platinum or Base version is fine too per Expedition 12 ? Do you know if I can use the same Navionics+ on B&G ? ciao, Marco

Re: Navionics or CMAP-4D on Exp 12

They are fairly similar. C-Map 4D has an end of life scheduled in a few years.

Navionics is on SD card, 4D is downloaded from C-Map.

For Navionics, some people like the extras available with the Platinum+.

Re: Navionics or CMAP-4D on Exp 12

I like C-Map alot but I moved to Navioncs for a few reasons:
1. C-Map had a lot of problems with their webstore last time I needed to update my charts and eventually they sorted me out. I get very worried it will happen again.
2. Navioncs is support on both x64 machines and Arm machines C-Maps is not.
3. I've had problems with the 4D displaying on x64 machines -- originally it was just when running over remote desktop but it has gotten worse and exp 4d crashes when I start it. Navionics has never been so fickle.

ciao Sparky and Nick, very usefull info to decide the correct Map.
Have sense to invest on Platinum version ?

on the Navionics compatibility guide ... see below the link
https://www8.garmin.com/navionics/PDF/GPS_Plotter_Cards_Compatibility_Guide.pdf
report for Platinum version this:
4 Limited Platinum compatibility. Check with manufacturer.
What is this limited compatibility ?
