Re: Serial (RS232) - WIFI - Expedition (Using B&G H2000 Perf.)

You would need a USB-serial adaptor. RS232 I think for the H2000 and another serial connection for the AIS.

Do you know how i can connect h2000 hercules to my 64bits computer through usb?

I need the details… have googled a lot already..
- do i need two ports??
- do i need to switch on the circuit card from serial port to usb like for h3000
- today there are two wires into one serial port (com1) on the existing system… 1 to position maybe?
- i need a converter from 32 to 64 bits?

Any advice and possibly exactly which adaptors to buy would be highly appreciated

Best regards
Silje

Is one of your two B&G processors a "performance processor"? This is necessary for a five-wire complete serial connection to a PC. Then USB-serial should be straight-forward.

If there are two wires into serial currently, the Windows 7 machine may be connected to receive NMEA 0183 only. This is possible from the primary processor, or an "expansion processor".

Hope this helps.
