Distance for calibration analysis

Is it possible to get distance between two wands from a Stripchart variable?  I know one could do it in Expedition using dividers, but as I'm already pulling other values from Stripchart, it would be easier if one can.

Re: Distance for calibration analysis

You can set one Channel to Log Bsp or Log Sog.
And then use the "Wand Deltas" function. There it shows "Change Log Bsp", or "Change Log Sog"

Re: Distance for calibration analysis

Nav, thanks for the quick reply.  I'm aware of the delta function, but not Log BSP or Log SOG - and of course I can't add them retrospectively .  What are they measuring?

Re: Distance for calibration analysis

My guess is, that it's just integrating SOG or BSP. So, probably you can do that calculation with a short Python script and add it to the log file.

Re: Distance for calibration analysis

You also get deltas for sog and cog based on the wands. You could use that to get the distance as you know the time.

Re: Distance for calibration analysis

That works just fine Nick, course dist 385 nm, race dist as calculated SOG * Time = 403 miles.  7 tacks, 1 gybe, average TWA 115 degrees. A gentleman's race.
