Routing runs have become unreliable, TOTALLY UNPREDICTABLE.
I'm considering buying a new laptop and reinstalling Exp on a new hardware platform as a fix. How much time and effort is required to transfer the license to new device, Please??? Must I reload all raster and vector charts, or can the files be copied from old to the new laptop?
Thx, pjl

Is it better to use "System Restore" or to use Windows remove program and reinstall? Or is there anyone who can use remote access to diagnose and fix problems? I have Win Pro Remote desktop operating.
Thx, pjl

Optimal routing is purely a result of what you put in to it - weather, routes, polars etc.
A new computer will just reset the various options to defaults - which is the same as using the Exp system restore app.
Uninstalling and reinstalling is something else and won't affect how you have set things up.

As Nick states - the routing works very well, it is about your inputs etc. I cannot see how a new PC would resolve any issues you might be having.

After downloading a 48 hour weather forecast and running the weather to "play", the counter starts and shows the normal isobar display for 18 hours, the counter continues to 48, but the isobar display is missing, then the counter restarts at 10 and continues to cycle. This tellsme that the grib file is somehow contaminated. I'm using the Exp dropdown, same way it's always worked. I ran repair from the program exe file, no change.

Apparently the wind forecast didn't cover the period of the race.

JJL, perhaps you should apologize and thank Nick?
Because it turns out that in this case the only unreliable operation, is the operator.
Nick would never say this, but it would be helpful if you did some research/verification before making such loud and inaccurate claims about Expedition.
Your post doesn't invite for people to want to help you, just by the tone, and not specifics about what you have done to troubleshoot your "unreliable operation".
Nick is an incredible person, as Expedition, engineer, mathematician who supports Expedition like nobody else, by offering round-the-clock support and updates and enhancements for Expedition quicker than anyone with reasonable expectations could hope for.
