ASCAT
ASCAT has been down for a while.
The data source has changed, so I need to work on it. Unfortunately it isn't a trivial change.

I am having trouble getting ASCAT GRIBs to display. Is ASCAT still available in GRIB format? File size shows 0b when trying to obtain ASCAT GRIB through the Expedition interface, and only 5kb under MyGrib interface, which also shows an "invalid" updated file time.

Thanks. Still having difficulty in NW Atlantic. Tried a larger area there and it still doesn't show any file size, nor display anything when downloaded.
I tried it around New Zealand and it worked beautifully (Expedition grib).
Went back to the NW Atlantic and still can't get anything, either under "Expedition" grib retrieval or OPC ASCAT under "My Grib" retrieval.

Nick, further experimentation: it appears that ASCAT grib retrieval may not be working in the western hemisphere. It works fine in east longitude, but I can't get anything in west longitude. Thoughts?

Which version of Exp do you have?
I just tested Newport-Bermuda and around California and it was all ok.

v12.0.13 for C-Map 4d. However, it's now working. Not sure what changed. For a bit I could get nothing anywhere on the globe. ASCAT gribs would download, but nothing would display. So I thought it might be a display settings issue. I turned off contour/shading/fade/autoscale for wind scatterometer (I had turned them all on) and selected a very large area of the Pacific centered on Hawaii to download ASCAT. This time, after the download, the wind barbs appeared. I tested elsewhere and it worked, including Newport-Bermuda and California, and with shading/fade/autoscale turned back on. Fundamentally, I don't think I changed my approach, as far as I can tell, but I'm happy that it's working now, thanks.

It may also depend on data availability.
Also, the source for the data sometimes doesn't update.
