One difference with IENCs is they can have raster symbols, but I don't know how common they are. If there is one in the IENC, Exp will show a ? symbol.

Have you maybe selected "route from current position and time" in the settings?

Thanks for the update!  Are there upgrade instructions somewhere?  Do I need to do a clean install of the new package and then direct it to my existing directories?

I’m not sure but could the Exp Events instrument input be broken? I’m back on the boat first time of the year, installed exp12 last night, checked most of the things…and now just realized the buttons from the helm doesn’t work. I use them to start timer. It could be some cable gremlin, start is in 2 hours so I won’t open it up now, would be great if somebody would confirm it works. Strangely, the settings of what button does what were deleted.

If I was unclear I’m talking about using a usb-serial device to send event triggers. I tried looking at raw input but nothing shows but I’m not sure it should show a short.

I don't think the serial events has changed, so it is probably more likely to be a hardware fault I think.
