So, I am setting up a new laptop, and want to go to the 4D charts
When I go on the C-Map website, and go through all the options - i select PC as the platform, then Expedition as the Brand and then Expedition as the program, and then my region, everything looks fine - it says it will take an hour or whatever to download.
but when i see what product it has selected on the purchase page it says it is on a card, that will be mailed to me.., not a download. It's for a chartplotter, not a PC.
It also says no refunds, so i want to get it right.
any ideas?

Hi,
maybe you must first log in with c-map account (map/coverage area top banner)

so, it turns out you can not buy them for expedition on the C-Map website.
you must launch the C-Map map manager from within Expedition, and buy them in map manager
the other thing i found is that it seems that in order to get a download button after you have purchased the charts, you must close out of map manager and relaunch it, and then it's the first thing you see - at least that's the only way i found the download button.

trying to purchase C-Map charts. Does this require Expedition 4D or can it work with the regular Expedition?
Thanks

It depends which type of C-Map charting.
Expedition 4D uses C-Map 4D charting
Expedition uses C-Map MAX charting.

Hi
I will buy C-Map charts.
What are the differences between Max and 4D in Expedition ?
I see that 4D is more expensive, but propose in addition Satellite Image, 3D view, easy routing,
Those functionalities are useful in Expedition ? (ie Expedition routing remplace easy routing...)
Thanks

The meain advantage for 4D is the licensing and online purchase and downloads.
I don't think the Easy routing is useful from a sailing POV.
