Then, some 4mm bungee to the top lugs (bottom when over shoulder), with a clip on on one end. This is to go around the waist. This keeps the mesa from swinging around, and can 'park' it on your back when grinding/hiking etc, but easily returned to the front and raised to view the screen.
I was wondering how do you grind with the screen. I was thinking a waist strap, but do you disconnect it when you want to raise it? And does it not ‘bounce forward’ when grinding?
Thanks

With it being over one shoulder, and the bungee around the waist I slip it around to sit on my back.

Right. I have it around one shoulder too. And when you lift it up to look at it, do you undo the bungee around the waist, it has enough elasticity to still hold on?

Here's a sketch, hope it makes sense. With bungee can raise to view, and slip around to sit on your back.

Nice one.
Have you tried it with the screen against you? Just push the top down to view? Then the screen is a bit more protected.

Do I understand the description correct? The older mesa 2 have a better screen then a Mesa 3?

No, they are the same, just that the performance can be degraded in extreme conditions. Typically very good, my mesa3 is in the same condition as the 2 advertised, just that the marks do not affect the performance.

Can I charge the Mesa directly with the 12V from the battery, or do you use a DC-DC charger?
Is such a load dump event menitiont in the text an issue on a normal sail boat?

Using a DC/DC converter is best to avoid alternator spikes etc.
