Re: C-MAP

I couldn't help myself ...🙈

I can confirm v18.1.0 does NOT fix the issue.

I just tested:
Parallels v17.1.5 (51577) w/ Tools v17.1.5 (51577)   -   works
Parallels v18.0.3 (53079) w/ Tools v17.1.5 (51577)   -   works
Parallels v18.0.3 (53079) w/ Tools v18.0.3 (53079)   -   DOES NOT work
Parallels v18.1.0 (53311) w/ Tools v17.1.5 (51577)   -   works
Parallels v18.1.0 (53311) w/ Tools v18.1.0 (53311)   -   DOES NOT work

Btw, I'm in contact with the Parallels 1st level support - it's dreadful but I am hoping to get through to the next level with some persistency 😄

I don't know if that wil help them.

The problem could be either in C-Map or in the OpenGL-Direct2D conversion.

We could test the latter with a build that didn't use accelerated option (the 'OpenGL to Expedition is accelerated').

We also have a C-Map sample app that would determine if it is in there.

@Nick: I'm not sure... My thinking is, it was working perfectly fine with the Parallels graphics adapter v17 and now it's not with Parallels v18. So hoping they can get it fixed on their end?!

Re: C-MAP

FOLLOWING!!
Nice to see other Mac users out there.
Experiencing similar issues with C-MAP 4D.
Uninstalling and reinstalling now.

Would it also make sense to start a Mac Users - General Discussions group?  I'll start one if anyone is interested.  It would be helpful to get some input on a few items.

Re: C-MAP

..as some were asking, yes, I'll keep you all updated here regarding the troubleshooting with Parallels.
So far I managed to push through level 1 support and the issue has now been escalated to level 2.

standby for further comms

Re: C-MAP

I just installed Version 18.1.1 (53328) and let it automatically update Parallels Tools on the VM and the charts are back to normal for me! :-) Thanks for your work on this @voodoomatz

Noice! I can confirm, it works.
The release notes are listing a OpenGL v3.3 related fix. Probably what did it for Expedition / C-Maps Manager as well.

To summarise for others...
Parallels v17.1.5 (51577) w/ Tools v17.1.5 (51577)   -   works
Parallels v18.0.3 (53079) w/ Tools v17.1.5 (51577)   -   works
Parallels v18.0.3 (53079) w/ Tools v18.0.3 (53079)   -   DOES NOT work
Parallels v18.1.0 (53311) w/ Tools v17.1.5 (51577)   -   works
Parallels v18.1.0 (53311) w/ Tools v18.1.0 (53311)   -   DOES NOT work
Parallels v18.1.1 (53328) w/ Tools v17.1.5 (51577)   -   works
Parallels v18.1.1 (53328) w/ Tools v18.1.1 (53328)   -   WORKS

Thanks everyone!

Re: C-MAP

Working for me as well
Very happy to stop testing my reaction times to cancel the tools update every time I start Parallels!!

Thanks again @voodoomatz et al

Re: C-MAP

I’m having the same issues, 4D charts are black, on a client’s computer running parallels. I get the feeling it’s something with the graphics drivers or open GL. Anyone who has solved this?
