Howdy --
The Ventus Pro looks like it will fulfill what we are looking for-- getting Expedition output to the helm. However, it looks like the software is very Apple-centric. I see that there is an Android release, so questions are:
1. Does the Android version work as well as the Apple version?
2. Thinking of using and Android tablet, not a phone. What are the Android requirements to run the software well?
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Mark

I used this a few years ago and liked it,
see the post
I even got it side loaded on a Fire tablet but don't ask me how? :-))
Try it,

Hi Ernie --
Thanks for reply. Some followup questions:
1. There are many complaints about the paucity of apps at the Amazon store. Were you able to download Ventus Pro through the Amazon store, or were there other hoops to jump through?
2. Is the Fire display dimmable for night sailing?
Many thanks!

Mark,
It's been awhile but I think I downloaded the app from their website and yes I think the Fire was dimmable.
At any rate the link to Ventus is on the index page of this forum. They are very responsive to questions.

Hi Ernie --Many thanks for very useful responses!
I have one more, sorry if I'm being a pest.
-- Did you install a router for the comms between the Expedition PC and the Fire? I'm reading that the Fire, at least some versions of it, does not support peer-to-peer WifFi, which, I think, means a router would be required.
There are other good reasons for a router... will probably get one anyway... curious though.
