cell phone wireless network and Ventus Navigator

Is it possible to use my cell phone / tablet as a wireless network and connect Ventus to Expedition via that network? If so, is there a detriment to using it in this manner?

Yes, you can use your mobile hot spot to make the connection. The only downside to connecting that way is that you will run down your phone battery much faster.

And I should have added that it is not as strong a signal as a good dual band router puts out. Not a problem unless you are on a larger boat with a carbon deck.

Re: cell phone wireless network and Ventus Navigator

As Harry mentioned using the hotspot on your phone will drain the battery.
Better consider making your PC the hotsport using e.g. Connectify  (http://www.connectify.me/hotspot/ ).
