I think it is indeed related to C-map 4D Nick.
I have the latest OpenGL drivers installed.
Last night I had Exp running in random simulation mode (with 'noise' and 'polar bsp') for more than 12 hours. This time I used the built in 'world map' instead of C-map and it ran perfectly fine without crash.

My charts are C-Map 4D. My GPU is Intel HD Graphics 3000.
Today I've reset the Expedition settings and gave it another try. This time Expedition frooze after around 100 minutes.

Unfortunately, I still can't replicate it. This is with Intel HD4400 and an up to date Windows 10.
Presumably you have additional 4D chart areas installed?

Hello,
Thank you. I have mailed C-map for those charts. There was a case a couple of years ago where there was an issue with a Caribbean chart.

switching auto chart off and it works

Olsen, you're absolutely right. Just checked and Expedition has been running for five hours now...

Thanks. I now have that C-Map chart and will test today.

Update:
I still can't make it crash, but 4D is using more CPU than expected and drawing the chart more than it used to, which may be related. Will find out why ...
In the meantime, and as pointed out above, it is just in the Autochart mode.

Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to replicate that.
However, I have fixed the issue of it re-drawing too frequently in the auto-chart mode, which may help if it is resource related inside C-Map.
As a bonus, there is also a new Meteogram.
