Expedition Data via WiFi from Vesper Cortex

Recently installed A vesper cortex system. Expedition connects to it via WiFi (NMEA 0183, TCP client, 10.1.1.1, 39150)

Every once in a while Expedition randomly loses this connection. The WiFi connection is still solid, and another app running on my iPad continues to receive data.

Reconnecting via instruments/network2/reconnect “fixes” this for some time.

Time without dropout ranges from 1min to 1hr

Any ideas/suggestions??

Re: Expedition Data via WiFi from Vesper Cortex

Does the connection window in Exp say Open or Closed?

I always prefer a physical connection over wifi. Actisense agrees with me in this week's newsletter.

The office Vesper has a USB connection. I don't know if they still do.

Re: Expedition Data via WiFi from Vesper Cortex

The Network is shown as "open" both while it is working and after it disconnects.

Agree regarding wired connection, and will be installing one this evening onboard.

It's strange though that the wifi connection on the PC seems solid, and the ipad based app (navionics) continues to work with no problem.

Anyway, probably not worth anyones time.  Should be up and running with a solid hard wired connection tomorrow.

thanks,
