Ground Wind

Hi,

Does Expedition compute or log "ground" wind direction. I have a B&G instrument system - and am sailing in an area with strong currents. I am seeing a 10 to 15 deg swing in both TWD and TWA when I tack.  Wound be super handy in analysing what's going on to have both TWD and Ground Wind logged. (Right now TWD seems to being caculated by B&G relatiive to boat Heading - not COG.)

Thanks

Phil

Re: Ground Wind

Yes, Exp does calculate GWD and GWS, but you want to use TWD to correct your winds, as in the B&G manual.

Re: Ground Wind

Your swinging in TWA/TWD has nothing to do with current - since the current is consistent from tack to tack.

Sounds like you need to check your TWA cal, but before you do that too much verify your heel, leeway, bsp and heading cal etc.
