Questions about Expedition features » Import waypoints to Zeus3s » 5/07/2024 6:16 pm

Trying to import Expedition waypoints into a new B&G Zeus3s chartplotter.  Any hints?.  Have seen video from Actisense and found Easy GPS. What's the best way? If Expedition has WP by race, will they get imported into Zeus that way?

Technical Q&A » Avoid Land » 7/09/2023 7:28 am

In the last 2 weeks of using Expedition, I have turned off "avoid land" because I can't optimized a route to completion. It will either go to the first mark and stop or go to the second mark an do the same.  Could this have anything to do with updating the software?  It seems like a possible correlation as I was able to get it to run prior to udating.  Non-the-less, I'm looking for some insight.

General Discussion » Exporting waypoints from Expedition to Garmin » 7/05/2021 6:04 pm

I’m trying to export waypoints from Expedition to a Garmin 700 series GPS/plotter.  Trying to convert either the csv or gpx files to what Garmin reads which is an adm file.  I exported waypoints from Expedition to a SD card as both csv and gpx, but Garmin doesn’t find them.  My web searches turned up Garmin Explore and Garmin Homeport as tools to do this, but Explore wants a model number for a handheld device and Homeport doesn’t list this feature.  Any advice?

Nick,  Thanks for your help.  I unchecked the box.
Now that you know I had checked the user defined folder box and it pointed to Program Files (86), do i need to be concerned about all the subdirectories like charts, config, instruments, polars, S57, S63, sails, Stripchart, Tides and then lots of individual files which reside in that directory?  If there are data files in this directory do I need to move them to the new location?

it doesn't have an option "default."  it does have a user defined log folder which is checked.  If i uncheck it will it automatically go to default or do I need to manually redirect?

On that page Settings:Files all the entries are the default ones.  Where it's different is User:Boat Logging.

i wondered about that.  My research showed it, but i didn't know how i set it that way.  it's several years ago.  should i move all the files to the new directory you indicated?  Or leave them?

I have BSP and the others in number boxes.
I didn't have Log Boats selected.  When I checked it I got this message.
Unable to create the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Expedition\Expedition\Log Folder, stopping logging.

Nick, The system doesn't seem to log in data like BS, TWS, TWD HDG, COG, in the excel spreadsheets or access databases.  I've explored current as well as archived files.  No doubt user error, so please be patient.
Michael
