Grib problem

I just got my self a premium service for Grib fils (baltic sea) however I can not view them in expedition, can you see any reason why this file does not work? I've used files from the same source  in the past.

Re: Grib problem

What is the data source? It seems to be using a reserved country code.

Exp is rejecting the data because it says it is using a custom table. I this this is an error in the file encoding and it is actually using the standard international exchange table. That is easy to allow for in Exp.

Re: Grib problem

The data is directly from the swedish metrological institute, SMHI. The data is avalible under subscription from the link below

https://www.smhi.se/professionella-tjanster/professionella-tjanster/gribfiler-for-seglare

They cover three areas, gribfiles avalible at the links below (Model is Arome, resolution is 2,5 km)

http://vader.se/grib/Baltic.grb
http://vader.se/grib/Gotland.grb
http://vader.se/grib/Westcoast.grb

Let me know if you need a password.

Do I ask them to change anything, or can you help me "open up" for it in expedition? We have three day ocean race in the area coming up in a week =)

Many thanks!
Fredrik

Re: Grib problem

The problem with these files is that they says they are using a custom parameter table, but I think they are using the standard international exchange format.

It is also using a restricted value for the country code instead of 82 or 83 for SMHI, which is odd.

If you do talk to them, you could mention both items.

I will try to do a release today to handle this.

Re: Grib problem

I have posted an update to Exp that supports these grib files, but it would be good to get them fixed.

Re: Grib problem

Super and thanks, so much, I'll send the feedback back to SMHI
