Best way to hook up a remote desktop?
In the past I used Real VNC to control my laptop running Exp. down below from my tablet on deck.
It worked great 90% of the time but froze once in a while.
I did not like Microsoft Remote Desktop because it shut off the screen down below when using.
Has anything better come along in the past few years that works better?

I mostly use radmin and find it very reliable.

I use 'spacedesk VIEWER,' and it automatically carved a path through Norton security features on my laptop--which had been thwarting my other attempts to use RDP. It basically creates a wirelessly-connected, additional monitor. I find that I need to increase the laptop display>scale setting when mirroring to a 10" tablet. www.spacedesk.net

I've been using the free TeamViewer. Works very well.
