Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have experience with using Remote Desktop apps via the B&G Go Free network using Zeus Plotters as Access Points? I will be racing on a boat where I want to mirror the downstairs Expedition PC to a rugged Android Sailproof tablet and currently go Free is the only wifi network on board. Typically I would prefere a dedicated wifi Router where everything is wired in, but as I can't confirm that this fallback solution works I thought one of you can might help out.

Thanks in Advance!

Your connection btw your PC and B&G plotter should not be a problem as they are probably close to each other.

The connection btw your PC and your tablet is another story. Especially if you hike hard (of course you do) the coverage will be intermittent. A small comfort is that the PC keep doing its job vs the Plotter and show an updated and full picture once you get connected again.

On an emergency quick-n-dirty solusion for a situation like this would be an external USB wifi card with AP capabilities from your PC with a long extension antenna cable to the cockpit hatch. You only need to connect your tablet to your PC after all and only for emergency/inshore...
