Hi,
I noticed my laptop cooling was working hard last week, but paid it little attention as it was so pleasantly warm in the English Channel I thought it might just be the weather. However I had a problem with Great Circle downloads and ended up resetting exp's registry keys and upgrading to the latest release, and in doing so realised that the PC getting hot correlated with connecting up instrument feeds. Using resource monitor you can see roughly 25% increased in CPU load for each instrument feed. Base load seems to be about 25% - I end up at 100% utilisation and a hot PC. My set up:
Win 10 latest set of patches
Tosh Laptop 8GB Ram, Core i5
Exp 10.8.16 (previously an early version of 10.8)
FTDI Serial adaptor to H2000 Performance processor HLink.
Shipmodul Miniplex 2 USB NMEA feed.
UDP Network connection (wired) for AIS.
Enabling any of the external connections, in any order, seems to bring on the CPU load, including the UDP.
Anyone got any ideas? I've turned of the AIS for now to ease the load (I can see it on other devices).

Fixed with 10.8.18.
