Technical Q&A » Decimal places of Exp. remote channels on H5000 » 6/18/2021 1:06 am

Hello,
Is there a way to change the decimal places of the expedition remote channels that are displayed on the B&G H5000 graphic displays?
I‘m sending mark bearing via Expedition remote channel through Ethernet to the H5000 websocket.
In Expedition settings / Channels the decimal places are set to 0. Mark bearing inside Expedition is shown correctly without decimal places.
But on the cockpit displays Mark bearing always shows 2 decimal places. So for example a bearing of 200deg is shown as 200.00.
As the number gets quite long it’s scaled smaller on the display wich makes it harder to read.
2deg is shown as 2.00, which from a distance might be read as 200..
As I already set the decimal places to 0 in Expedition this might be a setting to make inside the h5000. But I haven’t found a way to change the decimal places there.
Did anybody experience the same and found a solution ?

Hello,
1) When I select "Leeway from heel and bsp" in Exp. Calculations. Which K-factor is taken?
Under "Exp Calibration" I can enter a number for Leeway in a 1x1 table. But the description below the table says "TWA across table, TWS down table" which is a bit misleading.
Is this where the K factor has to be entered?

2) If I understand correctly under Exp Calibration I can calibrate for example my BSP for heel and speed correction if my instrument system is not capable to do so.
So I filled out the table there and set it active.
I tried this in a simulation where I have Deckman running in simulation mode and DfW2Exp sending the numbers to Expedition - the closest I can get to simulate an instrument connection without being on board. I expected the Expedition BSP to differ from the DfW2Exp input BSP by the numbers in the table, but it doesn't. Is this a pure simulator issue or am I doing something essentially wrong?

Hello,
this might be an easy one to add.

So far routes can be shaded by TWS, wave height, rain, air temp and sea temp via drop down in the route drawing options.

Another helpful shading would be TWA.

Is there a way to hide the rainviewer image again once downloaded and displayed?

Hello,
when running routes for ensemble weather models or when carrying out multiple runs with historic grib files the number of routing results quickly gets large.

1) To quickly select and deselect a selection of routes it would be good if a range of routes could be selected by shift+click (or by dragging a square over the routes when just having a tablet to remote control Expedition). This whole range of routes could then be just drawn/undrawn with the checkbox or deleted with one click instead of point clicking every single of them.
In fact a square can already be drawn on the routes in routing summary but without any effect.

2) It would be great if the routing results could be organised in a folder tree with nameable folders to keep a better overview of different routing options. That way one could quickly store away routes that might be worthwhile to look at at a later stage again without having all routing options on display in one large group.
This folder tree could sit just left of the routing summary window: https://ibb.co/hV3TtVr

Hello,
1) Is there a way to get Expedition to check which position report steps are already downloaded and to then download only new position report steps / steps that are not downloaded already?

This could bring data traffic down by avoiding downloading the same positions multiple times.

2) Would it be possible to show the file size of the position report download before hitting the download button?

3)  "JSON since" does not seem to work for me at the moment. It just downloads a very small file.
I'd expect, that for a past race (for example "c6002020"), when I enter the starting date and time of this race, Expedition would then download the whole race: everything since the start. But this is not the case.

Hello,
in Stripchart when creating the time average of COG I get results that I don't understand. Please see picture:
https://ibb.co/MRNLWNP

- What does [...T] mean?
- Why is the time average of the second channel (Course) not the same as the time average of the channel course below?
