I’ve not tried to do this.  What I did is hooked up my nav PC with Expedition to the NMEA bus with an Actisense interface, put my calibrations in Expedition, and configured Expedition to output calibrated AWA, AWS, TWD, etc.  IIRC I created custom PGNs which then showed up on the GNX source list.  This let Expedition do the math and bypasses any damping or calculations in the GNX that might muck up the numbers.

The manual I’m looking at for the Zeus3 is a bit contradictory.  It just says that “any calibrations made here will ONLY apply to this unit.”  On Pg 47 of my Installation Guide it says that PGN 130306 Wind Data is output.  You may need to set a unique device ID so that the GNX can distinguish the Zeus from your default wind sensor.  If you can then see the Zeus as a source of wind data on the GNX give it a try and see if your calibrations are applied.

you could also try giving B&G tech support a call and ask them what "wind data" exactly is output by the Zeus.

Good luck and fair winds!

It depends on which NMEA2k PGNs the Zeus can publish to the bus.  My experience with my Zeus 3 was that the GNX “saw” the Zeus as a source for GPS data like COG, bearing and distance to waypoint, etc.  Are you trying to get calculated values from, for example, RacePanel?  IIRC the installation manuals list all the PGNs the Zeus 3 transmits.  If the Zeus transmits and the GNX can display the PGN your good to go.

I don’t know the why this is happening, but you might try defining custom pgn’s in expedition that simply duplicate twa, twd, etc and display those on the gnx120s.  I know this works great for other values expedition outputs like vmg and tgt bsp.

It couldn't hurt to ping Jim Teeters at US Sailing and ask if he can run you an ORR perfpack which will get you to 24kts.  i know that the ORR and ORC VPPs work off the same lines files.  I'd guess that the other inputs are also effectively the same.
If there are options with either VPP to extend the range of the polars beyond 20 or 24kts Jim would know.
Good luck!

Assuming the data are already in TWS down the leftmost column followed by TWA / TGT_BSP pairs along each row in the proper sequence, the brute force way is to open the .csv file with Notebook or any text editor.  If you want to keep the column labels on the first row insert an exclamation point at the beginning of the row to make it a comment.  Use the Edit->Replace menu selection to change the commas or comma-space delimiters to tab characters.  You can insert a tab, select it with the mouse, Ctrl-C to grab it and then paste it into the "Replace with" field.  Click on "Replace All" and Bob's your uncle.  File->Save As somepolar.txt when you are done tweaking the format and adding a comment line across the top.
I am by no means an "expert" nor do I play one on TV, but I have converted my polars from Excel files by saving them as .CSV and using this process.

Yes - its no different than any other connection to the bus

After re-reading your question I see you want to run Expedition on your tablet.  I suspect the Easiest thing would be to run Expedition on the below deck computer and use RDP or splash top to duplicate the screen on the tablet.  There are a ton of how tos on YouTube
If the PC doesn't have wifi just plug in a usb dongle and set up a peer to peer connection.

I'm not sure if you mean NMEA 0183 or 2000.  All the smartphone and tablet apps that I'm familiar with work with NMEA 0183.

The Shipmodul Miniplex-3WI-N2k will connect to both plus combine (multiplex) signals from multiple NMEA 0183 devices plus convert NMEA 2000 to 0183 so your iPad or other wifi device can understand it.

If you are only connecting a single NMEA device like a GPS or an instrument system that has an NMEA 0183 output you can simply connect a wifi gateway like the Digital Yacht Win10.

Some devices like the B&G Vulcan chart plotters and Vesper XB-8000 AIS have built in wifi and will convert everything they receive on their networks to NMEA 0183.  Just follow the instructions in the user manual.

If you could post more details on exactly what electronics you have it would be possible to provide a better answer.

Having your instruments and nav info on your phone or tablet is really useful.  You'll like it!

Technical Q&A » Best Practice - scaling 10M Wind for actual mast height? » 4/20/2020 9:42 am

What do the experts consider to be the "best practice" to ensure that the 10M winds are scaled to the actual height of the wind sensor for Expedition to accurately calculate target boats speed, TWS, etc?
Is it just a matter of setting Mast Height in the Calibrations?  If so, is it necessary to tick the "Linear Interpolation" checkbox?
My wind sensor is 17 meters above the waterline so the difference is material.
Thanks in advance!

This is probably due to some dumb mistake I made, but I can't see what it is.
I'm running Expedition4D 11.0.2 on Windows 10 Pro Version 1903, most current version of CMap MapsManager and MapsManager_Updater installed, trying to buy the CMap 4D charts
Expedition 10 and the CMap MAX NT selector software have been uninstalled
When I select Charts -> CMap I get the blue spinning icon for a few seconds then Expeditino4D crashes.
The Windows event log is pasted below.  Any suggestions?
Thanks!
