I have been using two systems. A soft case for an Iphone that straps to the forearm. I have added a strip of velcro loops to the back of the case and a strip of the hooks to the forearm of a jacket. It does a fairly good job of keeping the Iphone in place. Downside the softcase is not waterproof so the phone needs to be in a lifeproof case. If to warm for the jacket then I use the lifeproof strap on the upper arm. Downside, I have to detach the Iphone for anything more than a quick look. But if twists off fairly easily and with the magnet attaches pretty quick and secure, even if the lever lock is not engaged, but I use an old Iphone with the setup.

I am having a problem with the active course and sail notes displaying at different zoom levels. I have purchased and installed the NV Charts for the Leeward Islands area in the Carribean. The charts are installed and are displayed in Expedition. I am setting up the courses for the St Barth regatta. However, the active course is only displayed when zoomed in or on the chart for the harbor area. When I zoom out to a scale to display the entire course, the active course is not visible. The second symptom is when I’m a displaying the active course in the harbor area and pan off without changing the zoom the active course is no longer visible when I move off the harbor chart. The issue appears to be related to the active NV chart displayed in Expedition.

There is also an issue with the sail notes displaying. Some sail notes do not display at all, at any level of zoom and some only when zoomed in. The sail note that is in the area of the harbor chart displays at all levels of zoom.

I have checked my expedition settings by setting up an active course in my normal sailing area that is over 100 miles long and it displays normally at all levels of zoom. Note for that check I am using the NOAA RNC charts.

I am running Expedition 10.10.12 on a dell Latitude E6430ATG with Windows 10 pro installed.

Any ideas on how to get the active courses to display over the NV charts would be appreciated.

We are using the hlink with a h3000 system and get AIS from a Standard Horizon GX2150. The AIS output of the GX2150 is connected to the usb bus through a serial to usb converter. Both the Hlink and AIS are connected to a usb hub and then into the laptop, only one usb cable into the laptop. We have hlink on Com 5 and AIS on Com 7 in the laptop. The AIS output from the GX2150 is at a baud rate of 38400, so com 7 on the laptop has to be set to 38400. Then in Expedition set up com 7 to AIS. Just check which converter cable you need rs232 or rs422 to match with your AIS output.

I guess this comes under the heading of never mind. Back down to try again and now it works fine. No changes to the setting on the computer, expedition or the iPhone. Just turned off the system and restarted today and now it works. I had rebooted the computer several times in the first attempt to get the NMEA data transfer to work. But shutting down and leaving it off overnight solved the problem.

Our delivery crew would like to get the instrument and route data from expedition displayed in the Inavx app on their iPhone/ipad. I'm having trouble getting Inavx to recognize the NMEA data from expedition. Hoping someone has come across the problem I'm having and has found the solution.

B&G h3000 instruments connected to the pc by hlink. We also have ais data from a Matrix GX2150 radio also connected to the pc through the usb cable. The pc is using a wireless connection to the boats wifi system.Setting up for the delivery crew I have changed the network 0 from expedition to NMEA 0183. The connection is set to udp tx & rx. I am using the same address and port that I use for Ventus when racing. In the NMEA settings I have cleared all the NMEA sentences to receive and selected a number on NMEA sentences to send GLL etc. When I check raw data Expedition displays the NMEA data sentences I have selected. No problem getting the IPhone connected to the wifi and I can test the connection by resetting Expedition for ventus and receiving data on the IPhone. In Inavx I set the host to the same address and port as I set in expedition. I turn on the link in Inavx and it displays connected waiting for NMEA. After a few minutes Inavx displays timed out and then once again displays connected and waiting for NMEA. No NMEA data is displayed in Inavx. I have tried connecting through a different router with no luck. However if I change Network 0 in Expedition to the expedition format. The data stream immediately displays in the Inavx connection window, Inavx does not recognize the data to use in the app but the data stream is displayed in connection window in the Inavx app. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
