I buy a 2-year-old iPad with at least a 10in screen.  Splashtop works great to connect with our CF-53 downstairs.  I find a case that has a shoulder strap and a hand strap on a swivel.  The primary function of the case is impact protection.  it's about USD500 all in.  Plan to replace every 2 years.  iPads don't like being wet- with or without a waterproof case- touch screen usability just becomes a nightmare.  I store the iPad in a waterproof bag on deck if waves are coming over the bow.  More often than not, I use a chest harness with a drop-down sleeve for the iPad.

Maybe I have a problem with where I am setting the dampening parameter.  In Settings/Channels, I set the relevant vars to 10s and then 15s to test extreme situations.  I never got damped data on GNXs.  

The Number Boxers on the PC, when set to system damping, show the seconds value I selected in settings.  So, i think i am setting the dampening correctly but not sure.

What would be the first thing you would troubleshoot to try to get damped data up on the GNXs?

I use a laptop to publish BSP and Heel Targets to my GNX120s via Actisense and Garmin Custom Channels.  Is this the best practice?  I don't believe I can send them via my H5000 Herc to the GNX Displays.  

Is there a way to change the dampening and precision that are displayed on the GNX120s?  The dampening I apply in Settings>Channels does not appear in the GNX Displays.  From a quick read of the GNX manuals, it doesn't look like their dampening feature applies to custom channels.  Am I missing something?

My objective is to get Target BSP displayed with 1 decimal precision and damped x seconds.
