Strip Chart Record from Barometer

Howdy --

Is Expedition capable of importing digital barometer outputs?  If so does anyone have any experience setting this up? I would imagine this might require a digital barometer that outputs an appropriate NMEA sentence... but, I'm not even sure the NMEA standard supports such a sentence.

The goal here would be to use the Expedition Log files to record barometric pressure and compare to the weather predictions to enable better adjustments to the predictions.

Any comments on this would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Mark

Yes, there are several available with NMEA 0183 outputs.

If you have a NMEA 2000 network, see for example the LCJ Capteurs BaroPlug Link on Exp's instruments web page

Re: Strip Chart Record from Barometer

Wow!  That looks like a great how-to post.  I should have checked out his sight, I do have his book.  Anyway, thanks much for pointing that out.

Nick -- thanks for your reply as well.

Cheers,
Mark
