Pinging Start: relay to H5000/Iregatta/Ventus

Have not found in the manual is there a simple way to automagically relay the updated starting line mark positions in Expd/Ventus to/from H5000, or will we need to enter separately in both?

e.g "Set port", "Set Starboard", "Move Port" " Move starboard"  as well as "Laser" and "Nudge" are communicated both ways so that we only have to update on the more convenient at the moment tool?

Perhaps some type of (Automatic at -5 min?) "SYNC START" on expd/ventus that looked at the last update on either and made it common, as well as synchonizing the timer?
regards

Sheldon

At present, you can't get the H3/H3 timer started from Ventus via Exp.

The architecture made it tricky to implement, but it is on the work-list

Thanks for the response, in messages with B&G support they report having this as a feature request as well.

I can see using it from any of IOS/PC/MFD as is most convenient to update the position of line and perhaps have some means of "holding" till gun as is available with the wind, so that Helm, tactician and Navigator are looking at same data during the start.

Looking at the NMEA PGN search function
https://www.nmea.org/content/nmea_standards/messages_pgns.asp
, they don't have anything keyed to "start" or even "Starboard".
Perhaps one could posit the few necessary waypoints (port_start, stbd_start, port_win_gate, stbd_lee_gate etc)  that would be unique in a race and publish PGN's
(unofficially at first) so that vendors could come to a working use?
