Mark at Range and Bearing

Is this working the way id did in the past?

right now. in 10.8.18, if I right click on a mark, one of the options is "add mark at range & bearing"

if you select that option, the dialog box - where you enter the range and bearing - only appears if you select a mark that is part of an active route - then it adds a new mark after the one you selected in the mark folder where the marks came from, and puts it in the route.

But the option - add mark at range & Bearing - also appears if you right click on a mark that is not part of an active route - it's just that in this case, if you select that option, nothing happens  - the dialog box doesn't open.

I thought it did work in the past for marks that weren't active marks...

anyway, it would be nice to have that option and have the mark just end up in the "ping" folder, rather than get added to a route.

it might also be helpful if the dialog box contained a field to name the mark - maybe filling that field could be optional
